Micro Moves Bring Macro Results
Both work and life can be overwhelming. Learn to break lofty goals down into daily tasks for achievement.
Sometimes it can all be overwhelming – work and life. Juggling kids’ schedules, aging parents, a demanding economy, and a fast-changing workplace. These days the goalposts seem to get further away, and harder to reach, which can be daunting, no matter where you are in your tenure or career.
Micro moves bring macro results
I’ve learned over my many years of leading sales teams, and living life, that when times get tough, you need to break down the work into bite-size actions.
20 outreaches per day will result in a minimum of two meetings
A 1-mile run daily will enable you to add another mile the following week
10 minutes a day on LinkedIn, being intentional about your activity vs. scrolling, will expand your network
A daily pipeline review, vs. weekly or monthly, creates accountability and builds new team habits
2 hours a week learning 1 new AI tool, will quickly make you proficient
The sports adages reflect this and the winners know this
Base hits win the game
It’s a marathon, not a race
Championships are won at practice, not on game day
Swim the lap you are in
Play the point in front of you
In a world that’s moving fast, it’s important to understand what will move the needle — in both business and life — and remove all other distractions. The world is full of them right now, and it’s easy for anyone to feel overwhelmed.
Be clear on what the goal is.
Write it on a piece of paper. Put it in front of you.
And take one step, every day, toward it.
